Kutschstall am Neuen Markt, Potsdam
Sunday, 24 August, 2008

It was in the festive surroundings of the Kutschstall that the 30 participants have presented their results of the various workshops. The guests, amongst whom were the Lord Mayor of Potsdam, Mr Jann Jakobs, the head of rbb InfoRadio, Mr Andreas Wertz – who replaced Ms Dagmar Reim, rbb’s patron of the Youth Media Workshop – and, Ms Anna Wolf from the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation, were most impressed by the creativity and professionalism of the contributions. It is with their entertaining blog- video- and radio commentaries that the participants of this year’s Youth Media Workshop provide their own answers to the central question of the week-end: what is the future of journalism? After four days of intensive debates and interesting discussions, one fundamental message remains: “We will survive.” The young journalists’ battle for quality news and press-freedom will be a hard one; but, no doubt, the M100 Youth Media Workshop has shown that they are surely capable of taking up the fight!
